A post,
Bringing Back the Xanga Dead ,by the famous Xangan,
TheTheologiansCafe, made me think of an old friend who passed away. Please visit the site of JStickmann and honor his memory.
As many of you have already heard, our friend John E. Pfeiffer, known better to us as "jstickmann" passed away Dec 13th 2009. Read the original post by his brother . Stick, as I thought of him, would have found all the drama about Dan's post morbidly humorous, and would not have condemned Dan, I suspect, although I don't think it's something Stick himself would post. He cared too much about people for that, or seemed to, during the time I was acquainted with him.
I have considered Stick a friend since he and I and RestlesButterfly met through a joke she and I were playing. We had a few people believing that we both ate human fetuses, and they were horrified. Finally, after about 30 minutes, we let Stick in on the fun. What an incredible talent for art and words, and a beautiful mind, he possessed. I feel this loss very deeply, indeed. The world is a lesser place for his absence. I hope he finds whatever paradise it is he believed in.
P.S.- This will undoubtedly be time-stamped a number of times, and I don't give a DAMN if anybody doesn't like it.

Maybe he wouldn't...but his family might not appreciate it and neither are those who knew him. They are hurt by his post. It isn't just respect for J, but for the family and friends who lost a loved one. That was low...very low of him. I feel his loss. I didn't know him that well, but I knew that he was one of the kindest humblest persons around. *tears* He deserves respect and in my opinion what Dan did, wasn't showing it.
You said so much of what a lot of us are feeling. This is a HUGE personal loss. I have a black hole where my heart was right now. Blessings. Hugs
for your loss.
that's a comforting thought - that he would've appreciated Dan's spoof.
A dead man is making recommendations. May his poor restless soul find peace.
He really does sound like a cool man. I wish I could have known him earlier.
He was awesome, wasn't he?
Farewell to a great mind indeed. John was a spirited soul, one with an immense talent to depict the beautiful. It showed in both his art and writings. He will be heavily missed by all those he's touched. May he rest in peace.
that was awesome :) great post and a good way to remember him
Now I understand what Dan's post was about.
We will surely miss him ;(
never knew him, but that's unfortunate. i'll pray for him.
..I sure do remember him.
When I first joined xanga, I took a trip to washington, and while there, I met him. (online, of course.)
he told me to say hi to Poseidon in the pacific, aheh.. he was a really sweet guy. always had something wonderful to say, and he always made people feel wonderful.
I'm really going to miss him.
i only knew john a short time, but loved his artwork and his personality. i miss him.
I'll miss him forever.
Talking about ate human fetuses - ThePraisedOne started the whole thing in his blog. And the last I and J talking about was that I told J that I was worried about ThePraisedOne because he been away @ missing from Xanga for 2 months. J told me that ThePraisedOne called J 'distant brother'. Me and J still waiting for news whereabout ThePraisedOne, suddenly J was gone. I lost ThePraisedOne and I lost J, Xanga is so meaningless right now.
i'm so sorry for your loss
I didn't know this person, but I do think I saw him around on Xanga. At least, the name is familiar.
Your words make me almost feel as if I knew him, as well, and I am sad for his loss, too. It is never nice to hear about a friend or a loved one passing, or someone being in pain over a friend or a loved one passing. :(
Go ahead and time stamp!
@RestlessButterfly - You still have me, if that counts for anything.
You're wonderful and so was he. May his soul rest in peace.
I did not know JStickmann, but when I visited his site the other day ( I came to find it through the post regarding his death : / ), I was overwhelmed by what a creative, kind soul he seemed. I'm glad he has people to write tributes like this for him, people that cared, people who had him touch their lives in some way. He seems like he was a wonderful guy. His artwork, too, is astounding. I love the boldness, the colors, just--everything! I wish I would have known about his blog sooner. I'm sure I would have been a regular follower. I say, timestamp the heck out of this post. : )
Nice post.
John and I knew each other fairly well, simply because we are from around the same part of the Mid West. He was always so humble and so pleasant. His art was amazing, and he never ever bragged about it... always downplayed his talent.
The world has lost a beautiful human being. Thank you for posting this.
@undertheglass - HUGS
@ZSA_MD - I agree with your assessment of him, I am sorry for your loss, and just wish there had been no reason to post this. I have no doubt, however, that his spirit will live on in those he touched.
Stick was a good man and a wonderful friend to so many here on Xanga. I feel so fortunate to have known him. I am sad for myself, for his family and for everyone here, that he is gone, so soon. Our loss is surely heaven's gain.
