You May See Only Darkness, But That Doesn’t Mean It’s Over
What do Love and Marriage, and Life for that matter, have in common with a movie? Let me explain it.
My wife and I went to see “The Amazing Spiderman” at the theater. I laughed, I cried, I laughed some more. There was adventure, terror, horror, romance, comedy, suspense and tragedy. Good and evil.
It was excellent, but the point of my post is this: At the “end” the screen went dark. Almost everybody left, but I never leave until the screen goes to white. I told my wife, it’s just like our relationship. If you leave when you see only darkness and think that it’s over, you might miss something great that is yet to come. Sure enough, there was more. Most people only think they know how that movie ended, and have no idea of the events yet to come.
So never give up. There will be bad times, but there will be many good times also. It’s a wild adventure, this life we live.

This is lovely. Rec
Spoken like a true swashbuckler
haven’t seen the movie, but I may. Not giving up is one of the keys to living and being happy =)
@catstemplar2 - Thankee!!! The other day, I had to let a guy who used and mind-fucked someone close to me know I would kick his ass if he ever talked to her or came near her again. Thankfully, she got off fairly cheaply. Hopefully she learned a lesson from it. Post soon to come.
This is special. Your wife is lucky to have you.
@I8it - @Randy7777 - @lucylwrites - @electrons_in_hatius_2009 - Thanks to you allfor reading and commenting!!!
@my0615 - Aww, thanks. I’m lucky to have her, too!!!
God bless both of you.
Very well said
Simple truth, my dear. Simple, beautiful truth. Relationships get stronger as you push through more things. I spent most of my life trading in what I thought was broken, instead of working through it. Now, in my current relationship, we tackle shit head on. Ive never been happier and never felt stronger standing next to someone.
Thank you for the reminder of why I do that.
Indeed
@HemptressDecember - Glad you enjoyed it, and have a good relationship now. We’ve been together since 1984, and there were times when one or both of us had serious problems, and things totally SUCKED, for extended periods. We’ve seen the better and the worse, the richer and the poorer, and we are still together. Pretty sure we will be ’til Death do us part, and maybe longer.
indeed
Agree with your thinking completely.

That’s a good message. Something I needed to hear… errr, read….
What if it really ends in black?
Wow. Great encouragement to faithfulness.
Truth.
Great point! I will wait through the black screen next time!
THAT WAS SPECTACULAR AND MADE ME FEEL THE SPIRITUALLY EMPOWERING MOVEMENT…SHORT AND SWEET, 2the point…
Haven’t people figured out that you never leave right after comic book based movies are over?
This makes me think of the end of the eighth Harry Potter movie
@BoulderChristina - Cool beans!!! @dstevej - Thank you very much!!! @Erika_Steele - And more than comic book stuff. @Nushirox2 - I need to catch up on the Potter movies.
Very true. This is a great little parable.
@Ampbreia - Glad you enjoyed it!!!
Absolutely true. <3
So true. Such pure philosophy here my friend.
Who knew such wise thoughts could have come from simply going to the movies.
@Annieothergirl - Thanks. This seemed really appropriate to me right now. The last eight months or so have been really rocky, and I am dealing with trust issues. I’ve been lied to and betrayed, more than once, and I am holding on waiting for things to get better again. I am sure they will, but it still sucks at the moment.
What a beautiful and timely perspective to share! Thank you!
Good message.
@nov_way - @Inciteful - Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for reading and commenting!!!
