Trolls, Whores & Sluts, Oh My!
I blog because I love to write, and I love the chance to interact with others. I have been called opinionated, and the speakers did not always mean it as a compliment! I take it as one anyway. I am a news and politics junkie, always wanting to know what’s happening in our nation, and in the wider world. I watch, and form opinions about current events, and how they may impact the future of people everywhere. I then share my opinions here, for the consideration of anyone who wishes to read. Trolls, you too are welcome. You’re not going to get my goat!!!
I also love to read what others think. You don’t have to agree with my views. It’s actually more informative if you disagree with me, as long as you do so respectfully, and give me reasons why you believe as you do.
So-called comment whores are also welcome. A comment whore, as I understand it, is someone who posts things that others may consider shocking or controversial, for the purpose of getting a lot of comments. I have two thoughts about this. First, I think most people blog at least partly to get attention; that’s not a bad thing, in my book. Second, sometimes we all need a little nudge to get us involved, lest we ourselves get lazy and become trolls.
Lastly, the sluts. I have a few people on my friends list who refer to themselves as sluts. A couple of girls (and guys) like to share their views on sex, whether it’s standard male-female sex, oral, anal, or other deviant acts. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. All human behavior can teach us something about our own nature, and make for entertaining reading. Whether you’re a story slut, or actually a sexually promiscuous person IRL, reading about your adventures in this world makes my world more interesting, and for that I love you.
So to all the trolls, whores and sluts out there, and all my Xanga friends and readers, I send my love. Muah!!!

haha this one caught my eye because the title had “trolls” in it.. I thought it might have something about those little dolls from the 80s with the crazy hair. I have one tattooed on my back and like 4 boxes full of them haha anyways I was wrong. I’m not sure what category I fall into or any at all. I think I’ve wrote one or 2 blogs about sex, I have been guilty of commenting just to return comments or recieve them, although I many times just comment because I find a blog interesting. And I also have been lazy and slacked off on my subscriptions.. I think that was what you meant by trolls.. So I guess I’ll just keep doing my thing. Nice to know we’re appreciated.

I don’t have a problem with any of these sorts of people – just kinda wish people would stop blogging about xanga now, haha. It’s all some of my favorite bloggers talk about anymore and I would like it to go back to them writing the interesting posts I know and love and get over the fact that trolls and what not are going to come to their sites, like you seem to have done. =)

@lonelywanderer2 - I see nothing wrong with either one. It’s the person that counts, not the job. I’m tired of this need to be on the top of the social ladder as deemed by other people’s requirements. Screw em, and live your life. Sooner or later, these people will be paying your bills in some form or fashion. If they act like a dick, fuck with their heads. It’s so much fun.

I mean we are always worried someone is going to go by our windows or when we are out somewhere in public that we will have the police called because of the death counts in our family. (My entire family plays…Mum, her bf, brother, my husband and myself.)

I don’t know if I’ve ever visited this site. You wrote “nice to meet you” on your comment to me, so I will assume I have not. Thank you for visiting and for leaving a comment on my April 1st entry, and for subscribing.
I’ve been on Xanga a long time (nearly five years now) and only recently have I seen the proliferation of the word “troll” to describe someone. I don’t know who these “trolls” are.
I remember hearing the term “comment whore” early in my Xangexperience. I still don’t entirely “get” the metaphor. Who pays these “whores”? Do they get paid in eprops?
You mention that “sluts” write about sex. I know this for certain. If you know where to look, you can find a bunch of pornography on Xanga. That’s one of the things I’ve always liked about the service, although I certainly don’t write about it much. So thanks to the sluts, I guess.

I blog because I love it, too. I have random thoughts and views on subjects, or maybe just random thoughts. I love blogging, and I don’t mind a lot of the insanity that goes on here either. It’s like a little blogging family.

It was originally posted when a lot of people were complaining about so-called “trolls” (people who read your posts without leaving comments) and “comment whores”, people they believed posted material designed mainly to cause controversy and maximize how many comments they would get. My point was mainly to say, in an entertaining way, that I welcome everybody, no matter why they stop by my site.

And being opinionated is never, ever a bad thing. Being obnoxious, now that’s another story. But being opinionated is not a bad thing. Everyone has opinions and should express them. Otherwise, how would anyone know how anyone else felt? And a lot of inventors and geniuses were also looked down on as opinionated and as idiots for trying out their theories, ideas and opinions on things. Until they were proven right. ^_~

I myself have been getting into more of current event but I talk about them more of my FB in hope that people I am closer to me take on an interest but it has seem fruitless… So I might also start talking about that, maybe i can get more of a response than talking about a lack of something… lol.. Being opinionated is not a bad thing as long as you’re respectful but there are many people who take things the wrong way. I always try and read the tone of the person who writes and put myself as they’re writing. Keep moving forward!
