  • An Open Letter To All Persons of Faith- Whatever Faith It May Be

Let your faith comfort you when Life is difficult.  I am truly glad for you.

Myself, I am an agnostic.  I was raised Christian, Methodist to be precise, and keep the core ethics of Christianity.  I believe it is possible there might exist Gods and/or Goddesses, Angels and Demons, but have not had any great revelation of that as fact.  I used to call myself an atheist, but have come to realize that is putting myself on the God-like plane of KNOWING.  And I am definitely not a God; I am a mere mortal, looking for answers.  My scientific mind looks not just for theories and ideas, but proof.  I try to learn all I can about all faiths, and respect the beliefs of all.  I believe people of all faiths are trying, in their own language and belief system, to recognize and understand the same Divine and Supernatural forces of Good and Evil, and their influences on Mankind.

Do they exist as actual entities that Christianity calls God and Satan, or merely as forces within Humankind's own heart?  That is a question we must each answer for ourselves, and I am glad to hear what you think or believe.

  • Trolls, Whores & Sluts, Oh My!

I blog because I love to write, and I love the chance to interact with others.  I have been called opinionated, and the speakers did not always mean it as a compliment!  I take it as one anyway.  I am a news and politics junkie, always wanting to know what's happening in our nation, and in the wider world. I watch, and form opinions about current events, and how they may impact the future of people everywhere.  I then share my opinions here, for the consideration of anyone who wishes to read.  Trolls, you too are welcome.  You're not going to get my goat!!!

I also love to read what others think.  You don't have to agree with my views.  It's actually more informative if you disagree with me, as long as you do so respectfully, and give me reasons why you believe as you do.

So-called comment whores are also welcome.  A comment whore, as I understand it, is someone who posts things that others may consider shocking or controversial, for the purpose of getting a lot of comments.  I have two thoughts about this.  First, I think most people blog at least partly to get attention; that's not a bad thing, in my book.  Second, sometimes we all need a little nudge to get us involved, lest we ourselves get lazy and become trolls.

Lastly, the sluts.  I have a few people on my friends list who refer to themselves as sluts.  A couple of girls (and guys) like to share their views on sex, whether it's standard male-female sex, oral, anal, or other deviant acts.  That's not necessarily a bad thing.  All human behavior can teach us something about our own nature, and make for entertaining reading.  Whether you're a story slut, or actually a sexually promiscuous person IRL, reading about your adventures in this world makes my world more interesting, and for that I love you.

So to all the trolls, whores and sluts out there, and all my Xanga friends and readers, I send my love.  Muah!!!

Please rec if you liked this; let's spread the love!

  • Admission- A Movie Review

Tina Fey and Paul Rudd star in this romantic comedy.  I saw this movie with my wife.  It will crack you you up, and then turn around and touch your heart, leaving you in tears.  By anyone's standards, this is a movie worth seeing.

  • David Letterman's An Asshole

I've thought so for a long time. Remember when he made a joke about Sarah Palin's young daughter getting knocked up? He claimed it wasn't about her, but she was the one who was there, and we all know it was about her.

His latest? He had Lindsey Lohan on and pretty much treated her upcoming time in rehab as a joke. Screw that. I have since seen someone I actually like as a journalist/entertainer say Lindsey doesn't "deserve" rehab. That really pissed me off.  Substance abuse is a real problem for many people.  Don't say someone who admits they have a problem with it doesn't deserve treatment.  Nobody should be defined by their disease or addiction.

  • Segregated Proms Still Exist? I am Stunned By That!!!

Read the entire article that goes with the above video here:  LINK

These students had to organize this racially integrated prom on their own.  After racial integration of the schools was required by law, proms were halted altogether because when the school tried having racially integrated proms, few to no people went because white parents did not want their kids socializing with black kids.  By law, however, the schools could hardly discriminate by holding one prom for black students and another for white students.  Nor would that be economically feasible.

So proms were replaced by private parties, which were either for white students only, or for black students only.  They justified it in their minds by calling it tradition.

  • Man Charged With Terrorism For Criticizing School Security

A disabled man from Centerville, Iowa mentions to his physical therapist that he feels security at his granddaughter's school is lacking, and he thinks someone could get in and hurt the kids.  The physical therapist reports it to police. Law Enforcment overreacts by immediately making an arrest and charging him for  making a felony threat of terrorism, instead of just talking to the man and checking out his criminal history (none) to find out what his intent was. Watch the video interview with the guy, at the jail. He's clearly terrified that this is going to ruin his life.

The wonderful media then compounds it by telling exactly where this happened, and pointing out the exact school where the man was worried security is lax. That's not irresponsible, or putting the kids in danger, at all, is it?
