Obama Admin Official Knew Of IRS Targeting Conservative Groups During 2012 Campaign
(CBS News) WASHINGTON – There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the White House was aware of the IRS’ targeting of conservative groups.
Inspector General Russell George said he informed a deputy at the Treasury Department in June of 2012 about the probe into the IRS.
The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week.
It’s the first evidence that someone within the Obama administration knew about the practice during the presidential campaign.
It is unknown whether anyone in the White House was told of the federal investigation.
Republican Congressman Aaron Schock serves on the House Ways and Means Committee, which oversees the IRS.
“We don’t have any reason to believe at this point that it was anybody outside the IRS directing them to do this,” said Schock. “Obviously there’s been claims that the White House might have been involved and other groups. I don’t have any reason to believe that.”

Yes, many people knew including those in the House Committee on Oversight Gov Reform, at least as far back as July. Republican Darrell Issa knew about it and was kept informed on the ongoing investigation.

I think we should move IRS headquarters to Benghazi. That would make it so much easier for our president to keep track of the things he knows nothing about. Something about some radical IRS agents blowing up some conservative orgaization’s headquarters or something like that, whatevers. That way he can get down to what’s important, like sellilng us all down the river for Monsanto.

@ImNotUglyIJustNeedLove - That’s funny since you jumped on the ABC bandwagon when they reported an email proved there was a cover up on Benghazi. Their report was debunked days later. It turned out ABC’s source for the email story had fabricated parts of the email.
I heard about Issa’s early knowledge of the investigation because I watched Issa speak about it in himself an interview. I just picked the ABC link because it was the first that came up in a Google search.
I’ll be surprised if someday you say anything of substance with facts to back yourself up rather than just blabbering your suppositions based on your hatred of people and nothing else.

People are labeled criminals only after being convicted by a court of law based on evidence beyond reasonable doubt.
